Introduction to the PAPA
The Pre-service Academic Performance Assessment (PAPA) is a standardized achievement test that measures selected communication and mathematics skills found to be important for the job of an educator. This online course is designed to meet the needs of any student who is preparing for the PAPA.
Students are challenged by tests in reading, mathematics, and writing. The objectives for all tests were established by subject area specialists using a process that included extensive literature review, interviews with public school teachers, a large-scale survey of teachers, and pilot tests.
This program is designed around the content objectives of the PAPA. The instruction sections and sample tests directly relate to the information provided by the official Pennsylvania Educator Certification Tests (PECT) Web site, www.pa.nesinc.com. Although this course is complete in terms of test preparation, there is an obvious need for prior completion of college course work upon which the PAPA depends.
