Introduction to the NC DAP
The state of North Carolina uses the NC DAP (North Carolina Diagnostic and Placement) test to assess students' English, reading, and mathematics college readiness skills. The NC DAP was developed by committees of college professors, extensive literature review, and pilot tests. By assessing your ability levels, the NC DAP helps to determine the English, mathematics, and reading courses most appropriate for you as you enter college.
This online course is designed around the content objectives of the NC DAP. The instruction sections and sample tests directly relate to the information provided by the North Carolina Community College System's (NCCCS) Web site, www.nccommunitycolleges.edu. Although this course is complete in terms of test preparation, there is an obvious need for prior completion of high school course work upon which the NC DAP depends.
